Gracious Society

A gracious society starts with us, and that includes you, me and everyone else.

We kept singing of the Singapore Spirit today during the celebrations. Your were all so happy and played with the glittery stuff? and the school was even so kind to provide you all with refreshments. Yet, what happens when the celebrations are over? None of you bothered to stay back to help to pick up the litter on the floor. At least SOME of you helped to pick up the litter before dismissal but some of you were just busy looking at the music in other people's handphones.

Don't tell me that all you know is ENJOYING and not helping afterwards? Sure, you claim to love SG, but when it comes to making SG clean and green, you do nothing, then what is your contribution to SG?

Let me quote some examples:
1. This girl was looking at the music in her friends' handphones. When asked to pick up the litter before dismissal, she just gave us a blank look and continued with what she was doing. AND, before that she was playing with all that glittery stuff? Yet, when she is done with it, she does not bother to help pick up at all.

2. This boy, I don't know if he had picked up the litter before dismissal but when asked to help after dismissal, he just replied us with a "cheh!".

I can't believe that in a 1st world country, and in a good school like this, we still have this kind of students. Really, there's no school spirit, needless to say Singapore Spirit in any of you. You expect the AYLC facilitators to clear up your mess after you have left? When they have already helped so much to organize this celebrations?

This is Singapore, this is our home. Make our home clean and green. Please. :)

"Count on me, Singapore!" yea, Singapore needs us to make her clean, she counts on us.

Yet in the whole sec 1 cohort only 3 of us in 1L stayed back to clean up. We KNOW because all the year ones left, leaving sec 2 cohort behind, listening to "Sorry sorry" by Suju. Pathetic much? Only 3 from the class and only 3 in the whole cohort. The same 3. Alicia, ZY and YJ.

Please help. Singapore IS our home afterall.

Thanks and Happy National Day in advance!
